英语作文 篇2
Having long been living in this alley, I know almost everyone here. It is, however, the housewives that I usually see in the daytime, the rest being either out working as family providers or away in school. All these housewives are kind and considerate.
My mother, for example, takes care of my sister's daughter even though she herself is busy with housekeeping, yet if she finds it necessary to go out shopping, she need not worry because there is always someone in the neighborhood coming over of her own will to help with our household chores. When suppertime is over, these housewives also like to gather at a certain place for a friendly chat about the daily goings-on in the alley or other things. They are also security-conscious, trying to keep each other out of harm's way. I is thanks to such mutual help and precaution against harm that we in the alley have lived so happy and so undisturbed a life.
英语作文 篇3
It is quite often seen that many studentswalk their pets on campus nowadays. For the owners, it is really good enjoymentand happiness. But for the other students, it may not so good. As more and morestudents bring their pets to campus, a cry for forbidding the pets brought tocampus is higher and higher. For me, I think the owner shouldn’t take theircute pets on campus for the sake of clean.
Firstly, keeping pets in dormitory willmake dormitory smell bad and cause noise pollution. Pets couldn’t go to toiletand flush their waste as human does, so they just urine everywhere, which makesthe place smelly. Besides, pets can make lots of noisy which is annoying especiallyat night. For other students who live with the owner, it is absolutely adisaster for they have to suffering from both the terrible smell and thedisturbing noise.
Secondly, raising pets can betime-consuming and even affect their study. For students, they are supposed tospend more time studying. If they put their focus on their pets, then they willhave less time to study. Not to imagine that they will do good in their study.
Inconclusion, I don’t think it is good for students to raising pets on campus inconsideration to the good of the public hygiene and also their improvement intheir academic performance.
英语作文 篇4
On Flat Sharing
It is reported that there are more and more people sharing flat with others in major cities in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai and so on. This is especially true for many fresh graduates.
There are two main reasons concerning this phenomenon. Firstly, the price of house renting goes higher and higher day by day. Therefore, it is not easy for common people to afford an apartment in the cities. Secondly, most people sharing the flat with others are those who have just graduate from the university. They dont have enough money to afford the flat and dont want to borrow money from their parents neither.
Every coin has two sides, so does flat sharing. On one hand, flat sharing can help people save money on renting. On the other hand, it may bring up some problems such as who pays for what, and in what proportion. However, in my view, that wont be a problem as long as one deals with the problems kindly and fairly.
英语作文 篇5
it is quite common for parents to beat their children, because they think eating is a good way to make children learn and behave well. one of my neighbors made a very strict demand on his son and scolded him bitterly or smacked(稍带特定味道) him whenever he was lazy or disobedient(违抗命令的). to justify(辩解) what he did, he said,” spare the rod and ruin the child.”
actually beating is a violent way of treating children. it does more harm and causes more hurt than good to children’s physical and psychological health. however, beating children is common occurrence(出现) in our life. many children become disable because their parents hit them too hard. some lost their hearing and some became lame(跛脚的). some children develop an internal(内在的) hatred(憎恨) for their parents and protest(抗议) by running away from home. others may become so fearful of their parents that they tremble(发抖) at the sight of their angry parents. a mother, for eample, even went so far as to beat her son to death because she was not satisfied with his study. likewise(同样地), it is not unusual that the child murdered(凶杀) his parents because of the etreme contradiction(矛盾) between them. how can children learn and grow healthily under such circumstance(环境)?
quite often parents will be torn by pangs(剧痛) of regret(懊悔) and remorse(自责) after they have beaten their children. they feel very sad in the rest of their lives. but it is already too late. how can they bring their handicapped(有生理缺陷的) child back to healthy one? how can they relieve(减轻) pains in their children’s heart so easily? we can say beating hurts both children and parents. it is absolutely a bad way to make children learn and behave well.
eactly speaking, children are also human beings. they have self-respect and should be respected. parents should understand and guide them by advising, persuading and reasoning. they may criticize(批评) them without hurting their self-respect, without crushing(支离破碎的) them. but parents should never resort(求助) to the violent, inhumane(残忍的) way of beating!beating children,此文章版权归原作者所有!
英语作文 篇6
Lleyton Hewitt was born in Adelaide, Australia on 24 February, 1981. His mother is a former champion netballer, his father is a league footballer, and his sister is already ranked number one in Australia for her age in tennis. She has achieved already more in tennis than Lleyton had at the same age.
The Hewitts have a grass court at their home. This was where young Lleyton began his tennis career. When Lleyton showed an unusual ability for a 4-year-old and he was hitting balls consistently over the net, his parents decided it was time to find him a coach.
Rather than get into bad habits, it was best he learnt how to hit the ball correctly. says his father. Two years later, they got Peter Smith as his coach.
At the age of five, when most children that age are playing hide and seek or getting into all sorts of trouble, Lleyton and his family would make the trip to Melbourne for the Australian Open. Lleyton would sit for up to 12 hours a day watching players practise.
Lleytons career as a tennis player was planned by his parents who tried their best to keep him away from football. Lleytons parents thought it was too risky to play football since he might get hurt. Had Lleyton played football, it is quite possible he may have ended up playing for his favorite teamthe Adelaide Crows. As his mother says, I guess weve guided him into things we felt good for him before he did.
